Full Description: Torrevieja lies around 40km south west of Alicante. The area (including La Mata) is famous for its salt lakes, and salt, along with fishing, was the major industry in the area before the arrival of tourism which has caused the town to grow hugely over the last few years. The history of the town is in fact very interesting and the name Torrevieja derives from the Spanish for "old tower".
Torrevieja boasts a superb promenade with a lively craft market and funfair and a huge number of bars, restaurants and ice-cream parlours. It is also very popular with sand modellers who astound bypassers with their skill and artistry. There are dozens of fabulous beaches in the area - some of the best being in the Cabo Roig, La Zenia and Campoamor areas and Torrevieja itself has many beaches.
This ground floor apartment is situated in a secure gated complex with a communal pool less than 100 meters from the apartment, you also have the choice of another pool available, both have childrens areas. A lifeguard is there in the summer months.
Local amenities are close to hand and it is 5 minutes drive to the nearest beach, making this is an ideal holiday apartment.
The apartment has one double and one twin bedroom both with built in wardrobes. All beds will be freshly made up for your arrival and towels provided. (Please bring your own beach towels) There is a family bathroom with shower over bath.
The small American style kitchen is equipped with crockery, cutlery and cookware. There is a microwave, oven, hob and washing machine.
The lounge diner is well furnished with dining table & chairs and 2 sofas. There is a TV for Spanish programmes, a DVD player and for your comfort, an air conditioning unit which is available, if needed, on a meter. A door leads to front terrace with patio furniture
