Full Description: This two bedroom holiday home has recently been renovated from a traditional Valencian townhouse in the old Moorish area in the small town of Palma de Gandia on the outskirts of Gandia (just 5kms) and 8kms from Oliva. Palma nestles under the Safor mountains and is almost surrounded by orange groves that stretch down to the sea with its soft sandy Blue Flag beaches. The sand is of such excellent quality it is exported to the Canary Islands once a year. The region lies on one of Europes subterranean lakes making the area lush and green. There is also an abundance of fresh drinkable water which has health giving properties.

With good motorway links, the area is convenient for both Valencia and Alicante airports. Flights to Murcia and Barcelona can be extremely cheap and worth the journey down the motorway

Palma, as the old town is called, has a small supermarket, a butcher and a bakery within minutes of the property. There is another butcher, a chemist, a tobacconist and a bank with ATM within 5 minutes walk. There is a public telephone outside the bakery and approximately 6 bars within easy walking distance, some serving tapas and Menu of the Day.

In the summer Palma's own modern open-air swimming pool is available.The town has lots of winding narrow streets that open onto small squares and nudges the next town of Ador where there is an excellent Pizza Restaurant. There are splendid walks through the orange groves and down to the river and up into the mountains.

The apartment has a large open plan living room with entrance hall and sitting area to get the cool breeze in the summer plus formal dining and sitting areas.There is one double bedroom with a ceiling fan and one twin bedded room both with fitted wardrobes and shutters to keep the rooms cool during the day.

There is a breakfast room fitted with cupboards and worktops and an informal table and chairs. Cooking is by either an electric oven, hob or microwave. There is also a fridge/freezer and washing machine. Crockery, cutlery, glassware, pots and pans, toaster, iron and ironing board are also provided. There is a bathroom with bath and shower and electric heater. Hot water is by gas.

The private walled patio has recently been renovated and is a pleasant sunny area with flowers and small trees. For those outdoor evenings, dining al fresco, there is a table, chairs and a gas barbecue: also a sun umbrella for when it gets too hot in the summer.

There is a reverse action heating/cooling system in the sitting area available at extra cost. Electric and a portable gas fire for chilly evenings are new.Towels, sheets and duvets are provided but not beach towels.

Benidorm is approx 40 minutes with its Water and Theme Parks and near to Oliva is the Vergel Safari Park where you can wander around at leisure and maybe take a picnic to the sounds of the roars of lions and tigers Nr Guadalest Castle just outside Benidorm is the Los Arcos Animal Sanctuary where lions, tigers and bears have been rescued and is run entirely on donations.

Miramar is the nearest beach with Gandia, just 6 kms, which is full of life with beach sports and facilities and backed by a long promenade lined with shops, cafes and bars. Between Gandia and Oliva are lots of other smaller beaches: some are rustic, edged with sand dunes and tamerisk trees, and most have showers and lifeguards but all have wonderful sand which gently slopes into the sea

This is a wonderful unspoilt area of Spain - the "real Spain" - as yet untouched by mass tourism and package holidays
